Among the new features of the 2020 edition are the cash prizes and the international jury for Italian documentaries in competition.

Italian documentary films with a duration equal to or greater than 50 minutes completed after 1 November 2019 are admitted to the selection. Works publicly distributed through the Internet and those already projected, in any place and context, in Italy will be excluded. World Premiers will be privileged.
Best Italian Documentary Award: € 3.000,00 equally divided between director and production
Home video distribution Award: “POPOLI Doc” The distribution company CG Entertainment (www.cgentertainment.it) offers the winning Italian film the opportunity to be published in the home video series “POPOLI Doc – La collana del Festival dei Popoli” distributed throughout Italy.
TËNK Award: €1500 for the best Italian film presented in the international competition and in the Italian competition. Tënk is the SVOD platform dedicated to independent documentary cinema available in Europe.
