THAT WHICH DOES NOT KILL (SANS FRAPPER) by Alexe Poukine (Belgium, France, 2019)

Statement: Portrait of an Algerian immigrant stuck in between a grey town in England where he lives for 17 years and his former homeland and culture, the film doesn’t choose the easy one dimensional melodramatic way. We are engaged in this endless struggle of a working class hero who is over and over looking for the lost home and the so-called patriarchal ideal marriage. A melancholic and humorous observation of ours capitalist society. This decision is made unanimously.
