CINEMA DU REEL 2009
Luciano Barisone - Director of Festival dei Popoli – will participate as a member of the International Jury at the 31st edition of Cinéma du Réel – Internazional Documentary Cinema Festival – that will be held in Paris, at the Centre Pompidou and in other associated theatres, from the 6th to the 16th March, 2009.

CHINA IS STILL FAR AWAY
"Wa Laou fil sin" ("China is Still Far Away"), by Malek Bensmaïl, produced by Philippe Avril for Unlimited and by Hachemi Zertal for Cirta Film, long feature documentary presented in European Premiere at the 49th Festival dei Popoli, has been selected in the International Competition at the 31st Cinéma du Réel of Paris.

RUMORE BIANCO
Ongoing success in Italian theatres for "Rumore bianco", long feature documentary directed by Alberto Fasulo and produced by Faber Film, presented in World Premiere at the 49th Festival dei Popoli. Beginnig from Monday, March 6th the film will be screened at the "Nuovo Cinema Aquila Spazio per Nuove Visioni" in Rome (time schedule 8.30 pm - 10.30 pm).

MUST READ AFTER MY DEATH
The award-winning documentary by Morgan Dews, "Must Read After My Death", presented in Italian Premiere at the 49th Festival dei Popoli - "Free Style" Competition - made its USA premiere Friday, February 20th. For the first time in movie history, a film opened in theaters in NY & LA and since that same morning, everyone in America with a broadband connection has been able to watch it digitally.

HAIR INDIA
The long feature documentary directed by Raffaele Brunetti and Marco Leopardi, produced by B&B Film and presented in Italian Premiere in the Long Feature Competition at the 49th Festival dei Popoli, will be screened Sunday, March 8th at "Cinema Nuovo Sacher" In Rome (Free entrance). After Amsterdam (IDFA) and Florence "Hair India" has been selected in many other festivals: The Back Lot International Film Festival (Suriname, 2008), Bakaforum (Switzerland, 2009), DOCNZ (New Zeland, 2009), ZagrebDox (Croatia, 2009), Belfast Film Festival (Ireland, 2009), Festival de Guadalajara (Mexico 2009), Beldocs (Serbia, 2009), Seoul Human Rights Film Festival (South Korea, 2009), Lemesos Int'l Documentary Festival (Ciprus, 2009). It also got a nomination at the "David di Donatello" Award.

CINEMA UNIVERSALE D'ESSAI
The documentary directed by Federico Micali and produced by Associazione Navicellai, Special Event at the 49th Festival dei Popoli, will be screened Thursday, March 5th at the Politecnico Fandango in Rome (8.30pm) in the presence of the director, the author of the book and the producers of the film.

LES BUREAUX DE DIEU
the new film by Claire Simon, produced by Films Boutique, presented at the 49° Festival dei Popoli in the occasion of the tribute dedicated to the complete work of the French director, will be screened in Firenze, Tuesday, March 3rd at Cinema Verdi (9.00pm). The special screening is a collaboration between Atelier Distribuzione and Festival dei Popoli.
