Two elderly sisters bound by a strong tie, which has not been worn by the hardship of life. One talks, the other nods but would rather leave. Beyond the words, a story of domination and subordination is outlined. P. Łozinski gives us an essay on the cinema of small things and transforms a plain chat in an investigation into the ambiguous nature of ties, loneliness, and time.

The Way It Is

The film-maker immersed himself in these marginal, apparently worthless lives that are actually processing their losses, constantly searching for love, or some way to survive. The Ukrainian Cleaning Lady

ope and disappointment, teardrops and smiles, old songs and difficult stories. All this blends into the story of a Ukrainian woman who came to Poland in search of a better life for her daughter and herself, and ended up cooking, ironing, and cleaning the house of the film director who decided to film her. A sincere intimacy is thus created to reconstruct the journey that turned a woman into an immigrant, a person with her own past and her own story into someone at the service of someone else.

The painstaking work of a group of archaeologists on some tombstones and inscriptions covered with vegetation and the dust of time. The frame gradually is enlarged and these minimal gestures acquire meaning; the stones become part of a story, vegetation of a context. Past and present, here and elsewhere, nearby and faraway, drama and daily life are separated by a thin line that the cinema illusorily seems to cross.

An important chapter in recent European history: the trial of Radovan Karadzic, indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague. The film reconstructs the shocking acts through documents (photos, videos, testimonials) and reveals, through the technique of frottage, made in the courtrooms, the gray area that lies between the “facts” of war, testing materials, the images through which war is represented and their subsequent interpretations.

Being You, Being Me

"Johannes is a young man who will make you wonder: in his world you can talk to the animals, you can say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ at the same time and you can ask the universe the wind, the rain, the snow.” The film is an act of love towards the younger brother of the film director, Johannes, who suffered a serious brain injury at the age of one year following a fall.

Elektro Moskva

Through archive material and interviews with scientists, collectors and musicians the film traces the connection between the Soviet military research and the clandestine use of the same technologies for musical research. The film tells the genius and spirit of scientists and Russian artists who have created pioneering tools with waste items able to influence even today’s the electronic music.
