Marta Donzelli is co-founder, along with Gregorio Paonessa, of Vivo film, an independent production company that holds a catalogue of films selected and awarded by the most prestigious international festivals.
She is currently a member of the ANICA steering committee .
Vivo film produced, among others, Michelangelo Frammartino’s Le quattro volte, awarded the Europa Cinemas Label at the 2010 Directors’ Fortnight; Emma Dante’s Via Castellana Bandiera, which earned the Coppa Volpi for best actress at the 2013 Venice Film Festival; Laura Bispuri’s Vergine giurata and Figlia Mia, presented in the official competition of the 2015 and 2018 Berlinales; Andrea De Sica’s I figli della notte, Silver Ribbon for best new director; Susanna Nicchiarelli’s Nico, 1988, winner at Venice Orizzonti in 2017; Federico Bondi’s Dafne and Michela Occhipinti’s Il corpo della sposa, both premiered in Panorama at the 2019 Berlinale; Abel Ferrara’s Siberia, official competition at the 2020 Berlinale; and Susanna Nicchiarelli’s Miss Marx, in competition at the latest Venice Film Festival.
Marta Donzelli and Gregorio Paonessa were nominated twice for the David di Donatello Awards with Nico, 1988, and Le quattro volte; with the latter, they were awarded the Ciak d’oro for best producer. They were also nominated for the Silver Ribbons with Nico, 1988 and Figlia Mia.
