At times, threats manifest themselves by way of invisible electromagnetic waves blanketing places and people. This documentary depicts the complex reality of Niscemi, Sicily, i.e., a place marked by environmental destruction and military presence, but also by acts of daily resistance. From the point of view of the Terranova family we explore life under the shadow of MUOS, a massive system of satellite communication, and the surrounding environmental degradation. The camera watches the landscape, between immobilism and oneiric jolts, finding symbols of quiet rebellion in the care for small things, such as succulent plants or wool roses – an attempt to grow flowers and life in an increasingly inhospitable location.
