    Filipa Reis

    Filipa Reis (1977) has been working as a film director and producer since 2000. In 2008, she started her own production company with her partner and co-director João Miller Guerra, where together they develop, direct and produce under the label Una pedra no sapato.
    In 2016, Batrachian's Ballad, directed by Leonor Teles and produced by Una pedra no sapato, won the Golden Bear at Berlinale Shorts. Djon África, her first feature film, co-directed with João Miller Guerra, premiered in 2018 at IFF Rotterdam (Tiger Competition) and won the FIPRESCI Award at IFF Uruguay. It was also screened at Bafici, FilmFest Munchen and New Directors / New Films. Ashore, directed by Leonor Teles, produced by Una pedra no sapato, won the SCAM Prix at Cinéma du Réel 2018 and was screened in L'ACID #2 Portugal at Cannes as well as Sheffield Doc/Fest, Mar del Plata and Zurich Film Festival.

    Stephan Riguet

    After communication and audio-visual studies in France and Spain, Stephan Riguet moved to Lussas (France) in 1996 to work for the non-competitive documentary Festival "Les Etats Généraux du film documentaire". After this experience, he started working in production and slowly turned to the international market by representing different independent French producers. In 2003, he created AndanaFilms, an international sales company dedicated to independent documentary films. AndanaFilms now works with Televisions, Festivals, Platforms and Distributors worldwide with such films as Kinshasa Makambo, The Son, Time of the Forests, Mama Colonel, I Am the People…
    Since the beginning he has also built a strong relationship with filmmakers, and focus on working hand in hand with them on the financing front – to help secure funds and prebuys.

  • Biljana Tutorov (Serbia) (+)

    Biljana Tutorov

    After graduating Art History at the Catholic University in Louvain (Belgium) Biljana Tutorov studied Film Anthropology at Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes and Drama at Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacque Lecoq in Paris. She is the author of several video installations, short, feature and documentary films, video works and performances. She was first director’s assistant to the famous Yugoslavian Black wave film director Želimir Žilnik. From 1998 until 2011, she worked for Swedish production company Long Film, producing and/or directing documentaries and short fiction films. In 2010 she founded in Novi Sad (Serbia) an independent film production, Wake Up Films, with an idea to support the new talents from the region. Biljana established and programmed Regional competition (fiction and docs) at Free Zone Film Festival in Belgrade until the 2017. In 2018 she created the CIRCLE - Women Doc Accelerator, a new platform for women filmmakers. She is alumna of EURODOC and Producers On The Move, a member of EDN - European Documentary Network, EWA - European Women’s Audiovisual Network and EFA - European Film Academy.
    Her recent feature documentary When Pigs Come (2018) won several awards and was screened in Sarajevo Film Festival, Hot Docs, Vision du Reel, Cinemed, DokuFest among many other festivals. Her new feature documentary Paper Boats Floating into the Fragrant Night will be released in 2019.
    Biljana lives between Paris and Novi Sad (Serbia).

The International Jury will assign the following prizes:

  • Best Feature-Length Documentary Award (8,000 euro, divided equally between the director and the production)
  • Best Mid-Length Documentary Award (4.000 euro, divided equally between the director and the production)
  • Best Short Documentary Award (2.500 euro, divided equally between the director and the production)
  • "Gian Paolo Paoli" Award to the Best Ethno-anthropological Film.

"THE GAZE OF THE OTHER" AWARD

The films of the International Competition and Italian Competition compete to the "The Gaze of the Other. The Challenge of Dialogue between Cultures and Religions" Award (1.500 euro) bestowed by the Istituto Sangalli per la Storia e le Culture Religiose di Firenze.

The films of the "Panorama" section compete for the CG Entertainment – Cinemaitaliano.info Award.

The winner, chosen by a jury composed by the editors of Cinemaitaliano.info (www.cinemaitaliano.info), will be offered the opportunity to release in DVD in the collection “POPOLI doc” published by CG Entertainment (www.cgentertainment.it).

"GLI IMPERDIBILI" AWARD

The winner will be screened for a week at the Cinema La Compagnia during a period of time to be agreed with the production/distribution. The prize will be awarded by the head of programming of the Cinema La Compagnia in conjunction with its staff. La Compagnia is a project promoted by Regione Toscana: a theatre, in the center of Florence conceived and managed by Fondazione Sistema Toscana for all those who cultivate the passion for documentary films, experimentation, audiovisual culture in all its forms.
