On Sunday, November 1st, young people will take centre stage at Cinema Astra: an audience of 14 to 18 year olds will become jurors for a day, awarding the Fondazione CR Firenze – Popoli Young Jury Day prize to the best documentary in the Popoli for Kids and Teens section.

During the day, the boys and girls will watch the selected films, discuss the documentaries together, have the opportunity to express their views and discuss them with the other jurors and moderators, share meals (provided by the Festival), and finally vote using a special ballot system.

The voting results will be announced during the official awards ceremony of the 67th edition of Festival dei Popoli, to be held at Cinema La Compagnia on the evening of Saturday, November 7.

DISCUSSION AND DEBATE

After each documentary, time will be set aside for debate, moderated by the organisers. During the debate, the jurors will interact dynamically and critically, expressing their points of view and discussing opinions and impressions from a technical and content-related perspective. There will be space to ask good questions, to listen to the other jurors and to begin a reasoned reflection on documentary cinema. An exercise in awareness, responsibility, and discussion, before expressing a final evaluation at the end of the day.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

• Participation in the jury is open to everyone.
• Participation is free of charge, and registration can be completed by filling out an online questionnaire at this link. 
• Reservations can be made until October 27th, by filling out the online form. (The questionnaire will allow participants to indicate any food allergies, which will be taken into account in the menu for the day).
• Each juror will be provided with individual material for the day: badge, pen and voting card
• Each minor participant must send the authorization signed by their parents to the email address edu@festivaldeipopoli.org or via WhatsApp to the number that will be provided once registration has been confirmed.
