Every year, Doc at Work pays tribute to a European country by inviting a delegation of filmmakers keen to develop new collaborations with Italy. The initiative aims to strengthen artistic and production ties between Italy and the guest countries, creating concrete opportunities for professional meetings and exchanges.

Croatia and Slovenia are the two guest countries of honour for the 2026 edition. The aim is to foster relations with two countries that are geographically and culturally close to Italy, encouraging new connections between professionals from the three nations involved.

On 7 November, as part of the “Country in Focus 2026” programme dedicated to Croatia and Slovenia, a delegation of producers from the two countries will be in Florence to meet professionals from Italy and explore new opportunities for collaboration and co-production.

Call for Italian projects with a view to a possible co-production

A call for proposals is now open to Italian producers who are developing or producing a documentary project and are seeking a co-production with Croatia and/or Slovenia.

The selected projects will be presented during the “Country in Focus 2026” event on Saturday 7 November, providing an opportunity to meet the visiting delegations and fostering the development of new international collaborations.
