Nicolas Klotz and Elisabeth Perceval have made 14 feature films, including fiction and documentaries, as well as a wide range of medium-length films, short films, videos and film installations. Through their films, Klotz and Perceval interrogate both the cinematic form and the upheavals of the contemporary world. Their films have been presented at International Festivals including: The Quinzaine des Réalisateurs del Festival di Cannes, Locarno Festival, New York Festival, BAFICI Buenos Aires, Toronto Festival, San Sebastian, Jeonju, RIDM Montreal, London Film Festival, FID Marseille, Cinéma du Réel.
Spanning a period of about 15 years years and in between the shooting of their official films, they produced a series of cinematic sketches and notebooks of varying lengths: the “Clandestine Dialogues”, with some completed over several days and others through the years, these films explore new paths for fiction and documentary, based on the independence allowed by new filming technologies.
From December 2nd 2021 until January 2nd 2022, the Georges Pompidou Center is displaying a complete retrospective of their works.
