An anthropological exploration of the games, wonders, auditory and tactile fantasies that children create out of water, the film opens on a song about childhood and closes on another about old age, becoming a metaphor of life’s perceptual journey. A reference to birth and an unconscious reverberation onto the cognitive apprehension of the world, water becomes the object of an investigation of the range of meanings it has for human beings. The film transforms it into a mosaic of textures, sounds, and reflexes, in which the flow of memory and the present of life come together. Attracted by an aesthetics close to those of the home movie and of the film diaries in the experimental cinema tradition, the filmmaker gives new life to the phantasmagoria of sensory learning, searching for the signs and secret correspondences that make childhood the point in which the capacity of thinking and feeling poetically is formed.
