COSE CHE ACCADONO SULLA TERRA

A compact and lyrical film, with a poetic and consistent aesthetic apparatus, Cose che accadono sulla Terra is a western told like a fairytale in which a family of cowboys who support ethical farming try to resist wolves’ predatory assaults and financial hardship while remaining committed to fighting desertification and other effects of climate change. This is a film on work that revolves around a humanist trust in the capacity of pulling oneself back together in spite of apparently insurmountable difficulties. A rarefied western accompanied by a striking music score, set in the Tolfa mountains, Latium, where a vast uncontaminated area is home to thousands of cattle and horses living wild and animal farming follows the rhythms of nature. A precious, necessary film that questions the capacity of humankind to coexist with the forces of nature. (l.f.)
