PAROLE TREMANTI
Italy | 2024 | 72 min | col.
The Tuscan hills, the memory of war, the displaced, the prisoners, the deported. The voices and faces give the rhythm to a story that creates a generational short-circuit. Those stories are indeed the point of departure for a writing process that begins in a film workshop conducted in a middle school in Mugello, Tuscany. Based on these stories, the pupils recreate other stories imagined by them. Therefore, the film becomes a dialogue between the events experienced by the interviewees and those re-imagined by the young students who, in a sort of both real and dreamlike space, stage that distance – the space-time that has always been the problem of memory conservation. In this film, many stories are intertwined, many gazes intersect and, with the energy of imagination, learn to talk to and know each other, bridging a gap between extremely distant eras. (d.d.)
