Registration open for "Popoli for Kids & Teens" section

One of the objectives of the Festival dei Popoli is to contribute to audiovisual literacy and encourage a younger audience to go to the cinema.

‘Popoli for Kids and Teens’ - included in the 66th edition of the Festival dei Popoli - offers a programme of documentary and animated films suitable for viewers aged between 3 and 18, educational workshops for different age groups, meetings with directors and experts, and many other activities.

How to participate

Film submission is free of charge. The following works will be considered for selection, only if they were produced after 1 November 2024:

- documentary films of any length and nationality;

- animated short films (maximum length 15 minutes) of any nationality. Priority will be given to films without dialogue or or with dialogue in Italian.

Selection criteria

We are mainly interested in works that tell the story of the life of children and teenagers from different cultures and backgrounds and that deal with the following topics: environment, integration and/or inclusion, gender identity and/or equal opportunities, sport, free time, legality and/or anti-bullying.

In the registration form, you are asked to indicate the age group for which the film is most suitable.

The documentaries may be selected to participate in the ‘Popoli for Kids and Teens Award’ assigned by a jury made of students during the Popoli Young Jury Day 2025.Registration deadline: 7 July, 2025.
