EVERYWHERE I SEE BLUE SKIES
Germany, Colombia | 2025 | 20 min | col. ! German, Spanish
In this work, which is poised between fiction and documentary, and between personal diary and collective storytelling, Catalina González González recounts her daily life as a young emigrant from Colombia living in Hamburg. Far from her mother country in pain, torn apart by increasingly violent clashes, Catalina finds herself in a state of continuous suspension and instability. With constant travel and relocation, it is extremely difficult to establish one’s identity and feelings. How can one find one’s bearings in a world in which lives are constantly uncertain, roots get ever more distant, and relationships even more evanescent? Everywhere I See Blue Skies does not provide answers, but the questions Catalina asks are shared by many others. (C.C.)
