Paolo Cognetti and his mountain, Monte Rosa. A high-altitude walk that presents nature, endangered glaciers, loneliness and relationships, such as the one between the protagonist and his lifelong friend Remigio, born and raised in Val d'Ayas, whose every place he knows and whose memory he cherishes; or Arturo Squinobal and his daughter Marta, who has transformed the Orestes Huette in the first and only vegan refuge of the Alps. Or yet Sete, a high-altitude sherpa divided between Italy and Nepal; Corinne and Mia, women of the lodges who welcome the wanderers with a loving, meticulous attitude. Last, the dog Laki, the inseparable companion of so many adventures. The precious cinematography of Ruben Impens (The Eight Mountains) and sound of Paolo Benvenuti contribute to a film that deals with transformations, flows, changes, and choices too. Over time, lives take unforeseen directions, but places and landscapes change as well. In fact, in the mountains nothing is really static, just like in the deep of the human heart: everything pulsates behind apparent immobility. (a.s.)
