"You leave the club at 6am. You walk home. It takes 15 minutes. You still hear the hubbub of people getting out of the club. You stop listening. Three cars pass by on your way. The bakery next door is already open. You are a woman. The city is all yours right now." In the centre of a photo shoot, a performer reconstructs a map of a city on a sheet of paper. With a black felt-tip pen, she draws the outlines of a roundabout and a labyrinth of streets leading to other roundabouts. A woman's voice accompanies the performative act with the painful tale of a rape that happened in one of these roundabouts in front of the indifferent eyes of a city that has concealed it for a long time. Francisca Antunes exposes the story of a trauma experienced in the first person, describing without filters the gruesome kaleidoscope of emotions that goes along with its memory. An intimate film that bravely confronts the wounds of a devastating event. (s.c.)
