Fourteen-year-old Shabu has wrecked his dear grandmother's car and has until the end of summer to raise the necessary funds to repay the debt. The documentary follows the adventures of the slacker boy who, torn between his passion for music and the commitment needed to keep his promise, spends the summer between first loves, petty troubles and cultural confrontations. The record offers an 'intimate and colorful portrait of a boy balancing the responsibilities of adulthood and the naive expectations of a teenager against the backdrop of the Caribbean-Dutch suburbs of Rotterdam.
