USCIVAMO MOLTO LA NOTTE

Italy | 2024 | 75 min | col. | Italian

In the early 1980s, Florence transformed from an aristocratic destination for tourist contemplation to the capital of emerging youth cultures. Phenomena called “Rinascimento Rock” or “Fauna d’Arte” sprang up there, and the now sleepless city exploded with creativity, hedonism, and experimentation. How did all this come about? Did it leave traces in the urban fabric and on subsequent generations? Our guide through this re-evocation of the decade that set the Tuscan capital on fire is Bruno Casini, a cultural operator who was crucial in fuelling the ferment of those days. Its leading characters are featured too, including Piero Pelù, Sandro Lombardi, and Federico Fiumanim among many others. The film pivots on their stories and exploits while images and words, visions and stimuli, flow one after another in an attempt to convey the energy of that extraordinary ephemeral flame. (A.S.)
