40 years after his participation in the festival, where he won first prize with the film WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?, the British director was appointed honorary president by the members’ assembly chaired by Roberto Ferrari.

A new collaboration between the Festival dei Popoli and the Accademia del Caffè Espresso will take shape on Sunday 10 November at 11.00 am at the La Compagnia cinema, with the screening of the film ‘The Rise of Espresso’.

As part of its Third Mission, the Scuola Normale Superiore has launched a collaboration with the Festival dei Popoli, involving the Political and Social Sciences class in organising debates with the public at the end of four selected screenings. The initiative aims to promote a critical and informed debate on relevant issues, enriched by the contribution of scholars and scholars.

Friday 8 November, 6 p.m. at the French Institute Florence, Christine Angot, director of the film A Family, in international competition, will dialogue with Isabella Mancini, spokesperson of the Casa delle Donne Florence and president of Nosotras Onlus, an intercultural association of native and migrant women.

The Let the Music Play section is back at the Festival dei Popoli: a journey through the music of yesterday, soundtrack of a changing world, curated by journalist and film critic Emanuele Sacchi.

The Festival dei Popoli takes part in the third edition of the Oxfam Festival with the film LIMITS OF EUROPE by Apolena Rychlíková, on Sunday 26 October at 8pm at the Cinema la Compagnia.
