Workshops for children: learning to read and make films

Educational workshops, differentiated by age group and led by experts in the field, will involve the young participants in stimulating and creative projects. Some of the workshops focus on raising awareness and deepening of the issues addressed by documentary films, others are dedicated to the audiovisual language.

The workshops, realised in collaboration with  Echivisivi and L'Aleph, are limited or reserved for schools.

Workshop organised by Echivisivi - a film production company that runs film workshops for children and young people from primary and secondary schools throughout Italy.

Telling the world - and improving it - with the magic of cinema

Tutor of reference: Samuele Rossi

When: Sunday 3 November at 10.00 a.m.
Where: PARC - Performing Arts Research Centre (Piazzale delle Cascine, 7, Florence)
Age: 7-10 years (limited number, reservation required)
Duration: 2h

The world is a complex thing. Especially in this historical moment. As is the way of telling and representing it through images that now fill every void (from platforms to television, from advertising to social media), often in a pervasive or harmful way. That is why it becomes important to know, especially for the youngest, the media that create those images, so as to be able to interpret them through a constructive approach but also to use them as a potential tool to intervene in their world.

The Echivisivi Workshop, in continuity with the first experience in 2023, aims to lead children by the hand in audiovisual reproduction through didactics based on play and direct experience, so that reality can remain a wonderful place to discover and its representation a way to improve the world around us.

Workshop organised by L'Aleph: an association committed to promoting active citizenship and sustainability issues (environmental, social and relational), starting with children in schools of all levels, from nursery to university.

The world is our home: let's take care of it with the Happy Bag!

When: Sunday 10 November following the 6-9 year old shorts
Where: at Terminale Cinema (Via Carbonaia, 31, Prato)
Age: 6-9 years (limited number, reservation required)
Duration: 60 min

Families will be involved in a creative workshop that will lead them to make their own Happy Bag!

In continuity with the short films seen in the auditorium, we will try together to make a cardboard bag happy, through colours, images and the children's precious reflections on the proposed questions... so that it will no longer feel like a throw-away and we will go home bigger than before!
