Popoli for Kids and Teens
Popoli for Kids and Teens – a project organised in collaboration with Fondazione CR Firenze – is a programme aimed at young audiences, families and schools, comprising films on current affairs, workshops and discussions.
The selection of documentaries and animated shorts presents the life stories of children and teenagers, featuring high cinematic quality and great educational value. The programme of screenings (by age targets) is significant both in terms of fostering an understanding of cinematic language and in relation to the themes addressed, which are inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the UN 2030 Agenda: inclusion, recognition of diversity, activism, the rights of young people and women, combating discrimination, the climate and migration crises, and racism.
The programme is complemented by workshops for different age groups, matinees reserved for schools, meetings with directors, events for the whole family, as well as the Young Jury Day, a day during which the jury of young people will award the “Fondazione CR Firenze - Popoli for Kids and Teens 2026 Award”.
Festival dei Popoli is a member of Docs4Teens, a network formed together with other European film festivals – FIPADOC (France), Krakow Film Festival (Poland), Docudays UA (Ukraine) and Porto Post Doc (Portugal) – to promote the circulation of films aimed at young people across Europe.
